Earn on io.vault

Staking allows asset holders to "lock up" their cryptocurrencies to support network operations, such as validating transactions. In return, they earn staking rewards—a growing source of passive income for many crypto users.

io.finnet has partnered with Kiln to enable institutional customers to stake Ethereum directly from their existing vaults. Unlike custodial staking, which introduces third-party risk, earning with Kiln ensures you retain full ownership and control of your ETH at all times.

This service is built on io.finnet's secure self-custody infrastructure, powered by Trustless Multi-Party Computation (tMPC). It offers both security and operational efficiency.

‍We currently offer dedicated and pooled staking for:

AssetTypeAPY (may vary)Minimum
ETHPooled2.68%0.1 ETH
ETHDedicated2.87%32 TH

Start Staking:

  1. Log onto the io.finnet platform and navigate to the Earn section of the main menu, or open the Staking with Kiln app via the Apps section.

  1. Select a Vault that is configured for the Ethereum network. Use the vault selector in the top-right corner.

  1. Choose your staking option under the Earn tab:
    1. For <32 ETH, select Pooled Staking.
    2. For ≥32 ETH, choose Dedicated Staking for potentially higher rewards.

  1. Enter the amount of ETH to stake and click Earn.
  2. The selected vault will receive a signing request. Ensure the signer(s) open the io.finnet app and approve the transaction.
  3. Upon confirmation, you will receive ioSETH, a tokenized representation of your staked ETH.

Monitor Your Staking Position:

Rewards begin accumulating immediately after staking. You can track your position as follows:

  1. Navigate to Earn > Overview or reopen the Staking with Kiln app.
  2. The Overview tab displays your staked amount and rewards.
    1. If the displayed USD value is $0, hover over it to see the actual ETH-based balance.

Alternatively, check your ioSETH balance in the relevant vault for a real-time view of your staked position.

To Unstake

  1. Navigate to Earn > Overview or reopen the Staking with Kiln app.
  2. Select the Withdraw tab. Enter the amount you wish to unstake.
  3. Click "Request Withdraw".
  4. The selected vault will receive a signing request. Ensure the signer(s) open the io.finnet app and approve the transaction.
  5. Your funds will now be part of the exit queue and will need to wait up to 3 days. You can see your request in the "Pending request" section of the app.

To Claim or Withdraw:

  1. Navigate to Earn > Overview or reopen the Staking with Kiln app.
  2. Go to the Withdraw page and once your funds are ready to be withdrawn to the vault, you will be able to "Claim" them.
  3. The selected vault will receive a signing request. Ensure the signer(s) open the io.finnet app and approve the transaction.
  4. Your funds will be sent to your vault.

If you'd like to learn more about Staking with Kiln, click on the app tile in the Apps section to view the splash screen.

Important note: Staking is a long-term commitment. Unstaking ETH and claiming it back to the original vault follows Ethereum's withdrawal mechanisms and can take up to 3 days.
