Efficient management of multi-currency payments
Manage, query and automate your operations using our local/global virtual accounts API.
Account Types
io.flow uses two primary types of accounts:
VIRTUAL_ACCOUNT
- Nature: A consolidated omnibus account set up with our affiliated PSPs (Payment Service Providers) and EMIs (Electronic Money Institutions).
- Functionality: Primarily serves as your main currency ledger. It can be provisioned through an API request in certain scenarios, offering flexibility and control in managing your funds.
- Currency: Each account is dedicated to a single currency, but our system supports multiple currencies including USD, GBP, and EUR.
VIRTUAL_USER_ACCOUNT
- Nature: Tailored to meet the specific requirements of your organization or your clients, functioning similarly to a Virtual International Bank Account Number (IBAN).
- Functionality: Facilitates easier identification and allocation of incoming and outgoing funds, thereby enhancing internal reconciliation processes.
- Creation: To establish a Virtual User Account, an Identity must first be created, ensuring accuracy in the data for KYC/KYT transactions. Refer to the Create Identity API for necessary fields.
Key Functionalities
Utilizing these account types within io.flow, your organization can perform various essential financial queries, including:
- Balance Queries: Check the current balance of any account within the system.
- Receiving Details: Access detailed information about the receiving aspects of the accounts, crucial for managing incoming funds.
Creating a Virtual User Account
Creating a Virtual User Account requires an established Identity in the io.flow system. This is crucial as the Identity data is integral for compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYT (Know Your Transaction) regulations associated with these accounts.
For detailed steps and required fields in creating an Identity, please refer to the Create Identity API documentation.
